Think to yourself right now – Are you nice?
In general I think I am super nice. I hold doors for ladies, I’m polite and use manners at all times. I strive to be a good person. But am I nice?
I am nice when need be. I am nice to people who deserve it. I am nice when it’s reciprocated. Is that selfish? I’m not even sure. In the line of work I am in, you have to put up a facade and pretend that life is great for 8 hours at a time.
I’ll admit, people are not always pleasant out there. But I try to be. Whether they’re mad or sad. I try to life their spirits.
As far as relationships go, I think we all have our faults. I believe I am nice in a relationship until it becomes expected. While I am more than happy to treat a woman like she is the world to me, it just irks me when something that is done out of kindness, out of love, out of generosity is expected.
I never expect people to be nice to me. I do expect manners, in which case I am utterly disappointed 95% of the time when it comes to others manners or lack thereof. When people are nice to me, it’s a pleasant surprise. I was never expecting it, so it brings a smile to my day.
All in all, I believe I’m nice enough to make it in this world.
